Species range
The species occurs in a single high-elevation lake in Salt Lake County.
Threats or limiting factors
Because the lake supporting the population is closely associated with a small town and recreational use of the immediate area is extremely high, potential threats to water quality and aquatic habitats is high. (A population of another species, the western toad, that historically bred in this lake has possibly been lost for unknown reasons during recent decades. Conceivably, the same factors responsible for the decline and presumed loss of the toad population could have resulted in the loss of the mayfly population.)
