Threats or limiting factors
Alexander (2014) noted grazing-related impacts, the subsequent invasion of exotic weeds, and the increased ATV disturbance in quaternary dune fields and sandy areas across the Colorado Plateau. And noted the uncertainty of the magnitude of the impacts of disturbance on extant populations and the lack of population-level surveys. Looking at aerial imagery the EOs outside of Arches OHV use was not observed. There is established roads near these EOs which are included as additional separate threat. The southern most EOs are in rather remote locations. The Utah Division of Water Resources reports that Utah is now in "extreme" or "exceptional" drought which is likely impacting this species in similar ways as it is other perennial forbs in Utah.
