Species range
Occurs in roughly the southeastern half of the state, as well as north-central Utah (Utah County) and extreme west-central Utah (extreme southwestern Tooele County). Hall (1981) and Simpson (1993) mapped the hypothetical distribution of this species to include the northwestern part of the state as well. Hasenyager (1980) had records from 11 counties in the state (Uintah, Emery, Washington, Garfield, Grand, Wayne, Tooele, San Juan, Kane, Utah, and Carbon).
Threats or limiting factors
Threats to this species in Utah not known but presumed include those known to affect other bats: pesticides, habitat loss, disturbance of roosts.
