License required for access at Lee Kay Wildlife Management Area beginning May 7, 2025
H.B. 309 is a new state law requiring anyone 18 years old or older to have a valid Utah hunting, fishing or combination license to access wildlife and waterfowl management areas in Utah's four largest counties. This currently includes Davis, Salt Lake, Utah and Weber counties, based upon population.
The law also defined the boundary of the Lee Kay Wildlife Management Area (formerly called the Lee Kay Conservation Area) that requires a license for access beginning May 7, 2025.
A license is not required to access Lee Kay Public Shooting Range classrooms, shooting ranges or facilities, nor is it required for those who hold valid special use permits for events and training purposes on the WMA during the dates specified on the permit.
