Threats or limiting factors
Threats are not well documented for this species. One EO is within a grazing allotment, but it is unclear if this species is being impacted. It is also not well understood if road, utility, and recreational use is a legitimate threat in Utah. Roads, OHV, and other recreation activities around Flaming George may contribute to habitat loss and may be a threat to the EOs in the area. The Utah Division of Water Resources confirmed the Utah is now in "extreme" or "exceptional" drought which is likely impacting this species.
The Bromus tectorum is probably the main threat to the population in Linwood Bay, in the Flaming Gorge Recreational Area (personal communication Sandra Robins, BLM).
