Crevices of limestone outcrops and talus; 9,800-10,500 ft. from the south slope of the Uinta Mountains from the North Fork Duchesne drainage to Dyer Mountain (Welsh et al. 2015). Threats or limiting factors
Of the 8 occurrences reported in Utah within the last 40 years, the main threats are from impacts from habitat alteration due to beetles killing trees, increased fire, drought and climate change. Impacts from grazing and roads may also be impacting this species. There are 6 occurrences reported within the boundaries of of cattle grazing allotments, and 3 within reported mountain goat habitat. There is 1 occurrence within the boundaries of a past wildfire. 6 of the occurrences are on or near trails and pathways, 7 are near roads, although only 2 are near major roads. Additionally 1 occurrence is near electric lines. Drought and climate change is also a threat and likely impacting this species through out it's range (Wrobleski, 2023).
