Impacts from any activity that disturbs habitat or changes the hydrology of the mudflats and shorelines where this plant occurs likely is a threat to this species. Drought is likely affecting this species throughout the state. The Utah Division of Water Resources reports that Utah is now in "extreme" or "exceptional" drought. Agriculture and grazing may also impacting this species if livestock are allowed to access habitat.
