Ridgetops at ca 2730 m in Beaver Dam Mts., Washington, Juab, and San Juan Counties, Utah; Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico (Welsh et al. 2015).
Threats or limiting factors
There are no occurrences of Astragalus calycosus var. scaposus reported in Utah within the last 40 Years. There are 3 occurrences on record, one reported in 1942 and two reported in 1966. The threats to these occurrences are unknown. There are two occurrences reported within grazing allotments. One occurrence is within the boundary of a past Utah wildfire. There is 1 occurrence near a mineral mine. All 3 occurrences are near Utah roads, although only 1 is near a major Utah road. One occurrence is near an established electric line.
