  • Thursday: 1–5 p.m. for rifle, handgun and archery ranges; 1–8 p.m. for shotgun (trap)
  • Friday: 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

Some ranges may be limited due to staffing and COVID-19 restrictions.

Holiday hours:

Open Sunday, November 22: 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Closed Thursday, November 26 (Thanksgiving)
Open Sunday, November 29: 9 a.m.–1 p.m.


During open hours, the ranges will operate at a limited capacity to comply with social distancing guidelines. Visitors to the Lee Kay are strongly encouraged to practice good hygiene (e.g., wash their hands, etc.) and wear a face mask. Steel core ammunition, defined as any ammunition where the projectile attracts a magnet, is not allowed on any range at the Lee Kay Public Shooting Range.

Lee Kay Public Shooting Range

Conveniently located in the Salt Lake Valley

The Lee Kay Public Shooting Range is a full-service public range owned and operated by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. The shooting center has seven outdoor ranges that are open year round. Lee Kay also features dog training grounds, shooting clinics and Hunter Education classes.

  • Adult day pass (16 years and older): $5.00
  • Youth day pass (15 years and under): $2.00


  • Trap round: $6.00 (25 birds per round)
  • Skeet round: $6.00 (25 birds per round)
  • Five-stand round: $7.00 (25 birds per round)
