There is much more to the Great Salt Lake than salt, shrimp and birds: Brigham Young used to brag about the therapeutic qualities of the lakewater, and he enjoyed many outings there. On and off over the last century and a half, the lake has been among the most popular and luxurious travel destinations in the United States, with many prestigious spas and resorts. People have come from far and wide to see the great inland sea and bathe in its famously invigorating water.
