Roughly $4 million was allocated to selected habitat restoration projects at the recent annual Utah Division of Wildlife Resources Habitat Council funding meeting.
The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is recommending a few changes to turkey hunting and upland game hunting in Utah, as well as some other proposals, and is seeking the public's feedback on the recommendations.

The East Fork Little Bear Wildlife Management Area is located just west of Porcupine Reservoir along East Canyon Road in Paradise. The land in Cache County was not originally acquired as a public camping spot. However, the DWR decided to allow camping on the property, hoping campers would respect the area and take good care of it. Most have, but over the years, enough campers have marred the wildlife management area to a point that the DWR has decided to close it to camping.
The Utah Wildlife Board approved the big game hunting permits for the 2022 seasons — which included a decrease in the number of general-season deer hunting permits — as well as a variety of other big game recommendations during its Thursday meeting.
The daily fishing limit increased to eight fish at four Utah waterbodies this week, which will allow anglers to catch and keep more fish before upcoming repair and restoration projects in those areas.
