Accessible wildlife for people with disabilities

The Division of Wildlife Resources supports citizens with disabilities.

We encourage people with disabilities to take advantage of Utah's natural resources. The DWR has many licensing opportunities specifically tailored to meet the needs of citizens with disabilities. In addition, the DWR and other public and private agencies have developed parks, campgrounds, trail systems, fishing piers, and other programs to enable access to our natural resources throughout the state. Licenses

• Discounted hunting, fishing or combination license for resident veterans with disabilities: Service-connected disability of 20 percent or more. Apply online.

Hunting

• Taking protected wildlife from a vehicle: Mobility impairment such as confined to wheelchair, crutches or lower limb amputation. Download application — PDF
• Crossbow or drawlock: Permanent, physical impairment which renders the person so severely disabled as to be unable to use conventional archery equipment. Download application — PDF
• Companion hunter: Upper extremity disabled, permanent physical impairment which renders the person so severely disabled as to be physically unable to use a legal hunting weapon or fishing device. Download application — PDF
• General season extension: Blind, quadriplegic, upper extremity disabled, paraplegic, or otherwise permanently disabled so as to be permanently confined to a wheelchair or the use of crutches, or who has lost either or both lower extremities. Download application — PDF
• Limited-entry season extension: Blind, quadriplegic, upper extremity disabled, paraplegic, or otherwise permanently disabled so as to be permanently confined to a wheelchair or the use of crutches, or who has lost either or both lower extremities. Download application — PDF
• Telescopic sight: A person who has a permanent vision impairment leaving them with worse than 20/40 corrected visual acuity in the better eye. Download application — PDF
