If you are interested in Utah's wildlife and how species are managed, several positions will soon be opening on two of the five Regional Advisory Councils that share public feedback with the Utah Wildlife Board. You can apply for one of the available RAC positions, beginning Wednesday, June 1.

Law enforcement officers and technicians with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and other agencies had a busy holiday weekend working to inspect and decontaminate boats across the state. Their efforts focused on preventing the invasive quagga mussels in Lake Powell from spreading to other Utah waterbodies.
The daily fishing limit increased to 16 fish at Oweep Creek and its tributaries in Duchesne County, which will allow anglers to catch and keep more fish before upcoming restoration projects in those areas.
The first case of avian flu in wild birds was confirmed earlier this month in Cache County, and now the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources has confirmation that the virus is spreading throughout the state after dead birds in five more counties tested positive.
If you see a deer fawn or an elk calf during late May or early June, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources requests that you not touch, try to feed or take the baby animal home — doing so can have fatal consequences for the animal and could result in injury to you.
