For the fourth consecutive year, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources biologists are recommending a decrease in the number of general-season deer hunting permits. The DWR is asking for the public's feedback on the recommendations for the number of big game hunting permits for the 2022 seasons, as well as a variety of other big game proposals.

If you have ever wanted to see mountain goats in the wild, there are a few locations around Utah where you may be able to spot them during March and April. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources will also be holding two free mountain goat viewing events in the coming weeks.

A wolverine that was spotted recently in Rich County is now wandering the Uinta Mountains with a GPS collar around its neck. Utah Division of Wildlife Resources biologists are excited to learn more about an elusive animal with only eight confirmed sightings in Utah since 1979.

After voting in January to restrict the use of all trail cameras in the take or attempted take of big game for several months of the year, the Utah Wildlife Board voted to keep the same trail camera regulations during an administrative rule appeal hearing on Thursday.

As part of an ongoing study launched two years ago, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is still asking anglers to report and release any tagged northern pike they catch in Utah Lake. And, because the invasive fish were placed in Utah Lake illegally, anglers must kill any northern pike they catch that don't have a tag.
