This young female cougar was found near Minersville in Beaver County. Officers believe the cougar was shot and left to waste in January or February of this year.

BEAVER COUNTY — On May 15, 2017, concerned citizens contacted the Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) after finding a dead juvenile female cougar stashed in a tree near Minersville, Utah. After DWR conservation officers arrived at the scene and performed an investigation, they determined that the cougar was killed, placed in the tree and left to waste.

Evidence at the scene suggests that this incident most likely occurred in January or February 2017. In order to track down the perpetrator(s), officers need any information you may have about the circumstances surrounding the shooting and wasting of this cougar.
