UINTAH COUNTY — On March 17, 2014, conservation officers in northeastern Utah received a tip about five snow geese that were poached and left to waste in the Book Cliffs.

The individual who contacted officers stated that he'd found five dead snow geese in the Book Cliffs, near the junction of Seep Ridge Road and Kings Well Road. The geese appeared to have been shot and dumped at the location.

"Geese in the Book Cliffs are out of place, but having five snow geese show up is even further from the norm," said Conservation Officer Bryan Clyde of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources.
