Getting started at the DWR
What to expect in your first year
Training, training and more training
Training for your job. Training required by state laws and rules. Reading through all the DWR policies and guidelines during your first 12 months. There's a lot to learn!
Orientation
One of our top priorities as an agency is to hire exceptional individuals. The Director's Office and New Employee Orientation Team is excited to meet you, and we look forward to getting to know you better.
New employee challenge
The new employee challenge was created to help get you up to speed quickly on what we do at DWR by participating in fun activities, and to give you an opportunity to earn extra leave time. For every four challenge activities you complete within your first year at the division, you'll receive an incentive that may be redeemed for a pre-tax award of $99 or 8 hours of administrative leave.
