Hunter education

IMPORTANT: Registration procedures
Prior to registering for a Hunter Education course, students must obtain a Hunter Education Registration Certificate for $10.00 either online or over the counter at participating DWR license agents.

How to become an instructor
Volunteers are often well-established local citizens who can, and will, create local interest and involvement in the program. Learn how to become a volunteer hunter education instructor here.

We offer in-person courses; Internet-based courses and special courses for furbearers and bowhunting.

2009 extended archery orientation course
Hunters planning to hunt the 2009 extended archery season must complete this online course. You must answer about 20 questions that are based upon information learned within the course.

Information for current certified instructors
Contact the hunter education secretary, (801) 538-4727 or 1-800-397-6999, to receive a Username and Password for the instructor information.
