Little Montes Reservoir

Image of Little Montes Reservoir

Little Montes is a small pond downstream of Montes Creek Reservoir. It is stocked in the fall with catchable Rainbow Trout and fingerling Channel Catfish. The reservoir also has naturally reproducing populations of Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, and Black Bullhead. Little Montes is known for it’s fast Bluegill fishing and has recently become a great place to go for fast fishing for Rainbow Trout through the ice.

Latest fishing report

The reservoir was drained for the final repairs to the outlet gate. Construction began in October and should be done this spring. We will begin to refill the lake as soon as the repairs are complete. Biologists are also looking for Eagle Scouts or community members to build fish habitat structures over the next few months. We want to install these while the lake is empty. If interested, please contact sportfish biologist, Natalie Boren, at 435-219-2644. (Last update 02-07-18)
