Little Montes Reservoir

Image of Little Montes Reservoir

Little Montes is a small pond downstream of Montes Creek Reservoir. It is stocked in the fall with catchable Rainbow Trout and fingerling Channel Catfish. The reservoir also has naturally reproducing populations of Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, and Black Bullhead. Little Montes is known for it’s fast Bluegill fishing and has recently become a great place to go for fast fishing for Rainbow Trout through the ice.

Latest fishing report

Water levels are very low, and the reservoir is still mossy. Bubbles or bobbers are effective. Try using nightcrawlers and panfish jigs for bluegill. Upper Montes Creek Reservoir has been emptied, which resulted in a total fish kill. Be aware of pheasant releases and hunting near the reservoir through the month of November.
