Little Montes Reservoir
Little Montes is a small pond downstream of Montes Creek Reservoir. It is stocked in the fall with catchable Rainbow Trout and fingerling Channel Catfish. The reservoir also has naturally reproducing populations of Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, and Black Bullhead. Little Montes is known for it’s fast Bluegill fishing and has recently become a great place to go for fast fishing for Rainbow Trout through the ice.
Latest fishing report
Anglers report active bluegill around the docks. Try using nightcrawlers and panfish jigs, like gulp minnows on small, weighted jig heads. Anglers are also having success fishing for crawdads on upper Montes Creek. Remember, you need a fishing license to take crawdads, and they need to be harvested at the lake if you're keeping them. It is unlawful to transport live crayfish away from the water where captured. A person possessing a valid Utah fishing or combination license may take crayfish for personal, noncommercial purposes during the open fishing season set for the given body of water.
