Abajo Mountains

Fishing report

  • Rating: Good
  • Conditions: Conservation Officer Dennis Shumway reports that fishing pressure at Lloyds Lake has been low, despite a good catch rate. Dennis recommends PowerBait, marshmallows or worms, floated off the bottom. At Recapture Reservoir, Dennis recommends gold spoons or lures, tube jigs or a crankbait. Blanding 3 and 4 are full and have been stocked. Traditional baits are effective. Dry Wash is empty. This spring, we stocked the following San Juan County fisheries: Blanding 3 and 4, Monticello Lake, Foy Lake, Lloyds Lake, Kens Lake and the Rattlesnake Ponds. For a detailed look at the number and sizes of fish that were stocked, please see the Fish Stocking Report.
