General information

Middle Inlet provides anglers with day-use only access to the water in a shallower area of Pineview Reservoir. An adjacent swim beach and picnic area make this a prime choice for shore anglers with families. This is often inaccessible in winter.


Middle Inlet is located just north of Huntsville, Utah. The UTM coordinates for this access point are 434,368.847 meters east and 4,569,620.306 meters north. Decimal degree coordinates for this access point are -111.783647 longitude and 41.275350 latitude. Directions


From Salt Lake City, head north on I-15. Travel 36.8 miles; taking exit 341 for UT-79 toward 31st Street. Keep right at the fork and follow signs for Wever State University and merge onto UT-79 E/31st Street. Travel on 31st street for 1.2 miles. Turn left onto US-89 N/S Washington Blvd. Follow Washington Blvd. for 2.5 miles. Turn right onto E 1200 S/12th Street. Travel on 12th Street for 1.2 miles. Continue straight onto UT-39 E/Canyon Rd. for 5.5 miles. Continue onto N 7800 jE (SR-166) for 1.7 miles. Turn left; following signs for the Middle Inlet Picnic Area.


The Middle Inlet access point descends gradually to approximately 5 feet in depth a short distance from shore.

No camping. Camping is available at nearby Anderson Cove or Jefferson Hunt campgrounds.

Other recreational activities

Boating, biking, bird watching, swimming, picnicking, paddle sports, and water sports are all available to visitors at this access point. Hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and wildlife viewing is also available in nearby canyons.
