Elk Festival

Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

To celebrate the start of another elk-viewing season at the Hardware Ranch Wildlife Management Area, we're holding the annual Elk Festival on December 7.

Free, family-friendly activities include crafting habitat ornaments, mingling with mountain men and much more.

Learn how to call elk and participate in the amateur elk calling contest (at 1:30 p.m.) sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Sportsman's Warehouse. Already speak the language? Show us your stuff and sign up for the veteran hunter calling competition (at 2 p.m.) and be named Hardware's Elk Calling Champion.

Prizes will be donated by Sportsman’s Warehouse and Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls. Except for a fee to ride through the elk herd ($5 for those 9 years or older, or $3 for those 4 to 8 years old), all of the festival activities are free. Questions? Call Brad Hunt at 435-770-0523.

Rides are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. If there is a line for rides, you must wait outside in line for the next available ride.

Please let us know if you, or someone in your group, needs special accommodations and Hardware Ranch staff will provide a ramp or step to help them get on the wagon.
