Emergency changes

Millsite Reservoir: The daily bag limit has been raised to:

This change is effective immediately as of March 15, 2017 and will remain in effect until March 15, 2018. Millsite Reservoir is being drawn down to do work on the dam to meet new safety standards. Low water in the reservoir will result in the loss of fish. Limits are being temporarily liberalized to allow anglers to harvest fish that would otherwise be lost. It is anticipated that enough work will be completed during the next year allowing for a partial filling of the reservoir and restocking of fish in spring 2018. All other rules established in the 2017 Utah Fishing Guidebook remain in effect.

Pelican Lake: The daily bag limit has been raised to:

This change is effective November 29, 2017 and will remain in effect until December 31, 2018. Pelican Lake will be treated with rotenone in October 2017 to remove invasive common carp. The treatment is scheduled for the first or second week of October 2017. This bag limit change is meant to increase harvest on these fish which will be lethally removed during the treatment anyway. All other rules established in the 2017 & 2018 Utah Fishing guidebooks remain in effect.

Steinaker Reservoir: There is no daily bag limit for any species:

This change is effective April 22, 2017 and will remain in effect until December 31, 2017. The Bureau of Reclamation will be drawing down Steinaker Reservoir this year in preparation for dam repair work. The drawdown will take the reservoir past dead pool and a complete fish kill is expected. It will be restocked with Bluegill, Rainbow Trout, and Brown Trout upon refilling and Largemouth Bass the year after refilling begins. All other rules established in the 2017 Utah Fishing Guidebook remain in effect.
