Threats to fat-whorled pondsnail include: urban development, pollution, water management, improper grazing practices, habitat shifting and alteration, and increased temperatures.

Taxonomy

There is much confusion regarding the taxonomic status of Ladislavella bonnevillensis, and this species is thought to be synonmous with Ladislavella utahensis and Stagnicola utahensis (Clarke 1991, Hovingh 1998). Additional taxonomic work is needed to correctly define and delineate this species.
