Species range

One population exists in Grand County (USFWS, 2021).

Habitat

This species is found in wet alpine meadows, seeps or sloughs at lower elevations with willows, violets, and a constant flow of water (Ferris and Brown 1981). Some authors suggest that violets are the most important aspect of habitat (Ferris and Fisher 1971).

Food habits

Larvae feed on violets (VIOLA NEPHROPHYLLA).

Ecology

Adults fly in late August to mid September.
