Jones golden-aster, Heterotheca jonesii, is an endemic to Utah, found in Kane, Garfield, and Washington Counties. It can be spotted by its bright yellow flowers emerging from a sprawling mat of leaves.

Jones golden-aster, Heterotheca jonesii, is an endemic to Utah, found in Kane, Garfield, and Washington Counties. It can be spotted by its bright yellow flowers emerging from a sprawling mat of leaves.

Phenology

This species blooms from May through September.

Species range

Endemic to southwestern Utah (Garfield, Washington and western Kane counties). Mostly in Zion National Park, but also known from Dixie National Forest, Bryce Canyon National Park, and the Hell's Backbone/Escalante Canyon area.
