Avon milkvetch is distinguished from other varieties of A. praelongus by its slighlty subterranean caudex with connate to completely amplexicaul stipules and smaller flowers.
Species range
Astragalus praelongus var. avonensis is a local endemic to the Utah Great Basin and is found in Iron, Beaver, and Millard counties.
