Cow elk poached in the South Book Cliffs

GRAND COUNTY — DWR Conservation Officer TJ Robertson is seeking information about a cow elk that was illegally killed in the South Book Cliffs near Wild Cow Wash. This area is approximately eight miles west of the Utah/Colorado border, north of I-70.

The incident likely occurred sometime between April 4–6, 2014. The cow elk was shot, and the meat was removed from the carcass. Officer Robertson is asking for public assistance in tracking down the poacher. Please contact him if you have any information or if you saw vehicles near Wild Cow Wash during the time in question.
