Two bull elk poached near Grouse Creek

photo
This is one of the two bulls poached near Grouse Creek.

On or around August 31, 2013, two bull elk were illegally shot a few miles north of Hwy 30 near Grouse Creek, in Box Elder County. Both elk had a small amount of meat and the ivory teeth removed. There was a large portion of meat on each elk left to waste.

The elk were discovered by the landowner, who contacted the DWR. The area in which the elk were discovered was a remote area southeast of Kilgore Springs.

Anyone with information regarding the illegal killing of these elk, or any other, is encouraged to contact the UTiP hotline at 1-800-662-3337. Rewards are available and requests for confidentiality are respected.
