You could see as many as 100 mountain goats on Aug. 3 during a free mountain goat viewing event. And you may not need binoculars to see them. At some past viewing events on the Tushar Mountains, goats have gotten as close as 35 feet to those viewing them.

More than 29,000 permits to hunt bull elk with a rifle or muzzleloader in Utah will go on sale at 8 a.m. on June 27. General archery elk permits will also go on sale June 27. General archery elk permits are not limited in number, though, so there's no rush to get one.
