2011 waterfowl hunt opener conditions

Locomotive Springs Waterfowl Management Area

Water levels are low and the only impounded water is in East Lake, which is 50 percent or less full

Bird numbers are low. Mallard, pintail and green-winged teal are the primary birds. Very few Canada geese are present.

Gates will be open on September 15, 2011

Camping is allowed, no facilities available. Fires are the responsibility of the camper, and if you lose it you pay for it.

Fish should be stocked in Bar-M and Baker Springs for the General Waterfowl Hunt opener and the limit is four trout.
