PIUTE COUNTY — Conservation officers with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources are seeking the public's assistance on a case involving a poached buck mule deer found in the Doc Springs area on the Beaver Mountain management unit, approximately two miles northwest of Circleville.
The buck was shot and left to waste some time in January 2013. The antlers were the only thing removed from the carcass, which was covered with tree branches, most likely to conceal the crime.
Poaching is a serious crime that robs sportsmen and other wildlife enthusiasts the opportunity to legally harvest the animal or view it in its habitat. If you have information related to the illegal killing of this mule deer or any other wildlife crimes, please call the UTiP Hotline at 1-800-662-3337. A monetary reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Requests for confidentiality will be honored.
