New map of Hardware Ranch
HYRUM — A new map of the Hardware Ranch Wildlife Management Area is available on the Web.
You can view and download the free map at wildlife.utah.gov/hardwareranch/visit.php. To find the map, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "Download map of Hardware Ranch" selection.
"We hope the map allows sportsmen and other visitors to identify routes and corridors to the excellent hunting and recreational opportunities that are all around us," says Dan Christensen, Hardware Ranch WMA superintendent. "We sit in the middle of a huge migration corridor that provides year-round access to wildlife."
In addition to being available on the Web, the full-color map will be part of a series of new displays created for the ranch's visitor center. This summer, large versions of the map will also be placed along the major roads and trails at the ranch, including the Shoshone trailhead near the visitor center.
"The new map provides important details, including gate locations, the distance to major destinations and seasonal restrictions," Christensen says. "Once people start to use the map, I'm sure they'll have good suggestions about other additions we can make to it."
The Hardware Ranch WMA is 17 miles east of Hyrum. For more information, call the WMA (435) 753-6206 or visit www.hardwareranch.com.
