08/28: More turkey permits
The chance you'll draw a wild turkey hunting permit in Utah just got better. The Utah Wildlife Board has approved 13,761 public hunting permits for hunts in Utah next spring. That's an increase of more than 80 percent over the 7,706 public permits that were available in 2008.
08/28: Goose hunters: you can hunt light geese next spring
At their Aug. 28 meeting in Salt Lake City, members of the Utah Wildlife Board approved Utah's first–ever spring light goose hunt. Light geese include snow, blue and Ross' geese. The board also approved some duck hunting changes.
08/28: Catch fish, shoot targets
The two activities are just some of the things your family can enjoy at the historic Division of Wildlife Resources building. Located on the south side of the Utah State Fairpark, the building is close to 100 years old.
08/21: Fighting illegally stocked fish

08/14: Quagga mussel update — Lake Powell
So far, so good. More than halfway through the boating season — and despite being surrounded by quagga- and zebra-mussel-infested waters outside of Utah — there is no indication that the devastating mussels have made their way into Lake Powell.
08/14: Think cool for hot summer fishing
What's the secret to catching fish when the water gets really warm in the summer? It's a question anglers frequently ask themselves. For many anglers, the hot months of July and August are the only time they can get their poles out to fish.
08/14: This year's annual dove hunts opens September 1
If you want to know how many doves will be in Utah this hunting season, watch the weather forecasts between now and Sept. 1. Weather affects mourning and white-winged doves more than any migratory game bird in Utah.
08/14: Special youth upland game hunts
Hunters who are 15 years of age and younger can participate in special chukar and pheasant hunts this fall.
08/01: About the same number of bucks as last year
This year's archery deer hunt starts August 16. With the exception of parts of northern and northeastern Utah, the number of buck deer in Utah is about the same as it was last fall.
08/01: Tips for a safe archery hunt
If you're an archery hunter, you can stay safe during this year's archery hunts by following a few, simple rules.
08/01: DWR proposes spring light goose hunt
Get ready, Utah goose hunters. Utah's first-ever spring light goose hunt would provide hunters with a unique opportunity. It would also help light goose populations (snow, blue and Ross' geese) and reduce damage to grain and alfalfa crops in Utah.
08/01: More turkey permits coming up
The Division of Wildlife Resources is proposing 13,761 public hunting permits for Utah's 2009 hunts. That's an 81 percent increase over the 7,706 public permits that were available in 2008.
