DescriptionThe Curlew Valley Farms Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit (CWMU) is east of Curlew Junction, Utah in the northwest corner of Curlew Valley. There is little relief on the Unit, ranging from 4600 feet in the northwest to 4300 feet in the south-east. The most common elevation is 4400 feet but ranges from 4300 feet to 4600 feet with an elevation difference of 300 feet. Fifty-five percent (55%) of the CWMU elevation ranges between 4300 feet and 4500 feet an elevation difference of 200 feet.† The Curlew Valley Farms Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit (CWMU) is composed mostly of just two (2) land cover types, Agriculture (114) and Invasive Annual Grassland (121). One of the Curlew Valley Farms Cooperative Wildlife Mangement Unit (CWMU) nearest weather stations, SNOWVILLE (427931), is 15.3 km east of the east edge of the CWMU. SNOWVILLE has ninety-eight (98) years of records, 1893 - 1991. During the FALL (September, October and November) the average precipitation is 2.86 inches, but it can be as high as 6.35 inches or as low as 0.85 inch. During the 91-day FALL period, 13 days will experience greater than or equal to 0.01 inch of precipitation, 8 days of greater than or equal to 0.10 inch, or 2 days of the greater than or equal to 0.50 inch of precipitation. Snowfall during the FALL averages 3.8 inches but can be as high as 25.0 inches. FALL temperature at SNOWVILLE averages 46.4 degrees F. but can be as high as 100.0 degrees F. or as low as -22.0 degrees F. During the FALL, 55 days will be below freezing (32 degrees F.) and 2 days above 90 degrees F. This map is provided for general reference only and does not constitute a legal hunt boundary.
