Description

The Blubell Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit (CWMU) is about 3.25 miles north of Liberty, Utah on the border of Cache and Weber Counties, mostly in Cache County. In the south are the headwaters of Cache Valley Creek and Broadmouth Canyon. In the northwest is the South Fork of the Little Bear River and the headwaters of Birch Creek. In the northeast are the headwaters of Fish Creek. Elevation ranges from 5600 feet to 9300 feet, a difference of 3700 feet. The most common elevation is 6500 feet. Sevety-three percent (73%) of the unitís elevation ranges between 5600 feet and 7200 feet, a difference of 1600 feet.
On the Bluebell CWMU the most dominant land cover is Inter-Mountain Basins Montane Sagebrush Steppe (62). About one fourth of the unit is this sagebrush steppe. Almost 20% of the unit is Rocky Mountain Aspen forest and Woodland (22). Rocky Mountain Sualpine Mesic Meadow (70) and southern Rocky Mountain Montane-Subalpine Grassland (71) accounts for another 20% of the unit. An additional eight ecological system and 90% of the unit is covered.
One of the Bluebell Cooperative Wildlife Mangement Unit (CWMU) nearest weather stations, HUNTSVILLE MONESTERY (424135), is about 17.7 km southeast from the southeast edge of the CWMU. HUNTSVILLE MONESTERY has thirty-one (31) years of records, 1976 - 2007. During the FALL (September, October and November) the average percipitation is 5.74 inches, but it can be as high as 12.30 inches or as low as 1.36 inches. During the 91-day FALL period, 22 days will experience greater than or equal to 0.01 inch of percipitation, 14 days of greater than or equal to 0.10 inch, or 3 days of the greater than or equal to 0.50 inch of percipitation. There can also be 1 day of greater than or equal to 1.00 inch precipitation. Total FALL snowfall averages 10.2 inches but can be as high as 31.0 inches. FALL temperature at HUNTSVILLE MONESTERY averages 46.0 degrees F. but can be as high as 95.0 degrees F. or as low as -16.0 degrees F. During the FALL, 56 days will be below freezing (32 degrees F.) and less than 1 day above 90 degrees F. This map is provided for general reference only and does not constitute a legal hunt boundary.
