CWMU description
The Summit Point Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit (CWMU) is located northeast of Monticello, Utah. Elevation in the south is around 6900 feet, in the east 7200 feet, in the north also 7200 feet and in the west 7000 feet. Buck Draw, East Canyon and Summit Canyon all cut the unit as drainages. Elevation for Buck Draw ranges from 6900 feet to 7300 feet. Elevation for East Canyon is also 6900 feet to 7300 feet, and Summit Canyon elevation ranges from 6800 feet to 8600 feet. The most common elevation is 6900 feet but ranges from 6600 feet to 7300 feet with an elevation difference of 700 feet. Forty-eight percent (48%) of the CWMU elevation ranges between 6800 feet and 7000 feet an elevation difference of 200 feet.
The Summit Point Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit (CWMU) is predominantly characterized by three (3) land cover types, Agriculture (114), Inter-Mountain Basins Big Sagebrush Shrubland (48) and Colorado Plateau Pinyon-Juniper Woodland (36).
