Description of project:

Crescent Bench Antelope Guzzler – construct 16’ X 16’ corrugate deck to catch additional water for a newly installed Boss Tank. Some shovel work to level, set grade for a 4’ X 4’ base. Set T-posts fence around deck. Can drive to site.

Shafer Basin Bighorn Guzzler– construct a 12’ X 10’ extension to existing corrugate catchment deck. Existing deck needs jacked up, braced with 2 cross beams, set posts, frame base, set OSB, install corrugated iron. Materials on site. Tools, lunch, water packed in. One mile, fairly steep (beautiful) hike on old mining road below Dead Horse SP to guzzler.

Project location:

Crescent Bench Guzzler – Access just southwest of Crescent Jct. (I-70) & Highway 191. Easy Access

Shafer Basin Guzzler – Access Hwy 279 (Potash Road below Dead Horse SP near the Colorado River

Equipment: None, though power tools and basic tools are always helpful.

Hours available: 8-16

Volunteers: 2-3

Special: Physically able to do some hiking, digging and moderate labor

Volunteers will need sturdy clothing, gloves, boots, hat, plenty of water and lunch.

Volunteers will need to fill out and sign a volunteer time sheet before any work can be done. Contacts will have time sheets.
