City Creek invasive weed removal

From July 06, 2015 until July 31, 2015

At City Creek Canyon, Salt Lake County City Creek Canyon Road, Salt Lake City, UT 84103, USA

Patrick Nelson 801-483-6889

Dyer’s Woad, Myrtle Spurge, and Dalmation toadflax are invasive weeds that have established themselves in large populations in City Creek Canyon. This area is heavily used by mule deer and elk, and these weeds are of no benefit to them. Hearty volunteers are needed to hike steep terrain to:
a. Cut seed heads off the plant
b. Bag seed heads, leave bags along canyon road for collection

Volunteers will need long pants, gloves, water, sturdy shoes and be healthy and strong enough to hike in steep, uneven terrain. Clippers will be provided.

This project is available for Dedicated Hunter Service hour credit.
