Fishing gear repairs (project for scouts and youth groups)

Ending on July 31, 2015

At DWR Salt Lake Administrative Office 1594 West North Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84116, USA

Many people would love to try out fishing, but don’t have the gear. The DWR office in Salt Lake has a few fishing rods that can be borrowed for free. These rods and reels get a lot of use and could use some maintenance and repairs or maybe even replacement. At least 12 of them need to be restrung with new line. The DWR would like to build up the number of usable fishing poles that we can lend out from the Salt Lake office. To help make this effort more successful, we are requesting donations of new or used fishing rods, reels, line, hooks and swivels and sinkers and have our existing gear fixed up. This project may qualify for Eagle Scout candidate projects.

This particular project is available for scouts and youth groups, or other interested volunteers (and is not available for Dedicated Hunter credit at this time).
