Hunter education

2008 extended archery ethics course

photo

Successful completion of this hunter ethics course and possession of a completion certificate while hunting during the extended archery season is required. This hunter ethics course is in addition to Utah's hunter education requirement. We also recommend that bowhunters attend a bowhunter education course.

You may take the hunter ethics course as many times as needed. A score of 100 percent is required to pass. After successful completion, you may print your certificate of completion. The course consists of 20 questions that are based upon information learned within the online course. If you incorrectly answer a question, you will have an opportunity at the end of the test to answer the question again.

Hunters who have obtained a general archery buck deer permit or any other permit that allows hunting in the general archery buck deer, may hunt within the Wasatch Front, Ogden or Uintah Basin extended archery areas during the extended archery seasons.

The Ogden portion of the Wasatch Front extended archery deer area is a buck-only hunt.

Hunters must complete this extended archery ethics course each year to hunt the extended archery deer areas during the extended archery season.

Hunters who have obtained a general archery elk permit may hunt within the Wasatch Front, Uintah Basin or Sanpete Valley extended archery elk areas during the extended archery season.

Hunters must possess the extended archery ethics course certificate of completion while hunting.

Remember, while it is important to have the right equipment, technology does not replace good hunting skills.

Please refer to the boundary desciptions found in the online version of the 2008 Big Game Hunting Guidebook or on the maps below.
