Fishing report

  • Rating: Slow
  • Conditions: On June 25, conservation officer Dennis Shumway reports slow fishing because of the high temperatures. Morning and evening have been the best times to fish. Trout are most active at high elevation reservoirs, like Monticello Lake and Foy Reservoir, where fish take insects from the surface throughout the day. Dry flies will work well at both locations. PowerBait and marshmallows can be effective in the early morning. Pike and bass fishing have been slow in the warm water at Recapture Reservoir, so try to fish early morning or late evening.
