Lower WMA

General information

This day-use access point is located on a Utah Division of Wildlife Resources Wildlife Management Area (WMA). Anglers will find meandering stretches of river that provide great tailwater fishing opportunities around every bend. No camping or fires are permitted on WMA.


This access point is located approximately 17 miles downstream from the Soldier Creek Dam. The UTM coordinates for this access point are 521,128 meters east and 4,442,011 meters north. Decimal degree coordinates for this location are -110.75201 longitude and 40.1281568 latitude.


From the I-80/US 40 junction, travel east on US 40, through the towns of Heber and Fruitland, for roughly 64.3 miles. Turn right onto Red Creek Road (41950 West) and travel south for 6 miles. Turn right onto Strawberry River/Camelot Road (9980 South) and travel west for 0.8 miles to reach this access point.


This area of Strawberry River ranges in width from 15 to 25 feet.


Depths range from 1-2 feet in riffles and runs to 2-3 feet in deeper pools.

Camping amenities

Day-use area only, no fires or camping permitted on WMA. Camping available in Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.

Wildlife viewing is available at this access point. Camping, picnicking, hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, OHV riding, snowmobiling, mountain biking, boating, water sports, and scenic driving available in nearby Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
