Brine shrimp harvester update

Dear Brine Shrimp Harvester:

Sampling runs on the south arm of Great Salt Lake were conducted on November 17–18, 2009 sampling run. The enumeration and analysis have been completed. All presented values are per liter of lake water.

• Cysts: 62.45
• Nauplii: 5.40
• Juveniles: 1.11
• Males: 0.99
• Total Females: 0.84
• Females: 0.45
• Females with eggs/naups: 0.17
• Females with cysts: 0.22

The cumulative harvest poundage totals through harvest day November 22, 2009 are listed below. Totals are preliminary due to incomplete harvest reporting, and will be updated as soon as possible:

• Lake: 8,726,597
• Shore: 6,883,375
• Salt ponds: 558,940
• Total: 16,168,912
