Please notify all personnel who work at Great Salt Lake: Great Salt Lake Minerals will be flushing some of their evaporation ponds into Gilbert Bay beginning November 4, 2008. A project to monitor the released effluent will be performed using a non-toxic fluorescent pink dye that can persist in the water for up to 5 days. A large plume of fluorescent pink water may be seen from the water and air in Gilbert Bay. If you have further questions about this project please contact John Luft at (801) 721-9780.

Thank you for your support of our work at The Great Salt Lake Ecosystem Program.

Sincerely,

John Luft
Great Salt Lake Ecosystem Program Manager
