DWR officers seek information in Piute County deer poaching investigation

PIUTE COUNTY — Conservation officers with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) are seeking information regarding a poached doe Mule Deer near Birch Creek on the Beaver Mountain deer management unit.

On December 31, 2011, a concerned citizen found the deer carcass and reported it to wildlife officers. Wildlife officers subsequently confirmed that the deer had been shot and left to rot. Evidence at the scene leads DWR officers to estimate that the crime occurred on December 29, 2011.

Individuals with information regarding the illegal taking of this deer, or any other, are asked to contact the UTiP hotline at 800-662-3337. A monetary reward is being offered for any information which leads to the successful prosecution of the responsible individuals.
