MILLARD COUNTY — On Jan. 9, 2012, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) Conservation Officer Kody Jones received a report of an eagle that had been shot near Hinckley, Utah.
Officer Jones responded to the scene and located two golden eagles that had been shot from a row of trees near Center Street and 7000 West. One dead eagle was still suspended in a tree; another was lying on the ground nearby.
This is not the first case of eagles being killed in this area. DWR officers investigated a golden eagle shot in January, 2010, in the same area. Golden eagles are protected by both state and federal law.
The Division of Wildlife Resources is asking for the public's assistance in locating the individual(s) responsible.
