Pleasant Grove–Starting Oct. 11, you can keep up to eight fish a day at Manila Creek Park Pond in Pleasant Grove.

Scott Root, regional conservation outreach manager for the Division of Wildlife Resources, says the city is draining the pond so workers can reinforce the pond's lining. "Draining the pond will also allow workers to perform maintenance repairs on the aerators in the pond," he says.

The fish that are in the pond will likely die as the water level is reduced. The daily fish limit is being increased from two fish a day to eight fish a day to allow anglers to take fish that will be lost when the pond is drained.

Root says the work should be completed later this fall. "The pond should be fully operational by spring 2013," he says.
