Utah is one of 19 states that are holding a "Wanna' Go Fishing for Millions?" contest this year.
The contest is sponsored by Cabela's.
If you're lucky enough to catch one of eight fish in Utah that have been tagged with a "grand prize" tag, you'll be eligible for some big prizes.
Forty five additional fish have been tagged with tags that won't qualify you for a grand prize, but will still land you something well worth having.
(You can learn more about the prizes online.)
The following are the Utah reservoirs that have fish with tags, the species of fish that have been tagged and the number of grand prize tags versus the number of tags for other prizes:
The contest runs until July 14.
The fish in Utah that have tags on them were tagged by biologists with the Division of Wildlife Resources. "We're happy to help," says Roger Wilson, Aquatic Section chief for the DWR. "We wish the anglers who participate in this contest the best of luck. We hope you're one of the prize winners."
How to get involved
To qualify to win, you must pre-register online. And to be eligible for the maximum payout—which more than doubles the value of the million-dollar fish—you must use gear from contest sponsors, including an Abu Garcia reel spooled with Berkley line, Costa sunglasses and Sperry Top-Sider shoes.

Cabela's turns 50 this year. In celebration of the stores' 50th anniversary, the fiftieth tag to be redeemed will earn the winner a $10,000 Cabela's shopping spree in a store or online. Additional prizes will also be awarded for the first tag redeemed in each of the 19 states that are participating in the contest.
