The DWR will release 1,000 chukars before the youth hunt on Sept. 22, 2012. Check the following list to find an area near you:

Northern Utah

• Blacksmith Fork Canyon (below Hardware Ranch)
• Millville Face
• Henefer/Echo Wildlife Management Area — 100 birds

Northeastern Utah

• Lake Canyon Wildlife Management Area (southwest of Duchesne)
• Rabbit Gulch Wildlife Management Area (west of Starvation Reservoir)
• Sand Wash (north of Duchesne, off Hwy. 87)
• Little Hole Wildlife Management Area (along the Green River, east of Flaming Gorge Reservoir)

Central Utah

• Timpie Point/Stansbury Mountains (Tooele County)
• West Mountain (south end of Utah Lake)
• Long Ridge (west of Mona)
• East side of Lake Mountain in Utah County (northwest of the shooting range)
• Wasatch Front (South Provo, Cedar Hills)

Southeastern Utah

• Along the Farnum Road (southeast of Wellington)
• Gordon Creek Upper Fields (on the Consumer's Road west of Price)
• Above Millsite Reservoir (west of Ferron)
• Miller Canyon (near the town of Emery)
• Near Jim Wilson Reservoir (on the south side of Cedar Mountain)

Southwestern Utah

The DWR will release a total of 200 birds in southwestern Utah. They will be split across the following five locations:

• Pahvant Butte (Millard County)
• Pahvant Upland Game Wildlife Management Area (Millard County)
• Poverty Flat foothills, south of Monroe (Sevier County)
• South of Glenwood, along Water Creek (Sevier County)
• Parowan Gap (Iron County)
